Rush Limbaugh
Born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Rush Limbaugh (1951-Present) is America's most listened to talk radio host. Early on in his childhood, Rush Limbaugh was determined to land a career in radio. It was perhaps his greatest aspiration, and he accomplished this while he was in high school. Shortly before leaving for college, Rush Limbaugh worked as a deejay for a local radio station.
A short time later, Rush Limbaugh left home to attend Southeast Missouri State University. He attended this school for one year, after which he dropped out to further pursue his dreams of having a career in radio. He was hired as a radio host at KFBK, based out of Sacramento, California. Shortly after this, his program went national, and can now be heard on over 600 radio stations across the country. The story of Rush Limbaugh illustrates that, even through ups and downs, perseverance pays off in the end.
